Kaput-D General Use Pocket Gopher Bait - Bait can be applied by hand, in underground bait stations or with a gopher probe. Kaput-D pocket gopher bait is manufactured with either winter wheat or milo using the anticoagulant diphacinone. After initial treatment, if fresh mounds appear after two to three weeks, repeat treatment.

Diphacinone (2-(diphenyl acetyl)-1H-indene-1, 3(2H)-dione)
- Yellowish-brown to black fur on top, the underside is often a lighter shade, almost white in color
- Large front claws and large incisors, both used for digging
- Short tail and small, nearly naked ears
- Often noticed by their fan shaped soil mounds that lead to the burrow system, generally 4 to 18 in below ground
- They are usually 3 in Dia but can vary with the size of the gopher
- Eat roots, plants and other vegetation they encounter while digging or pull into their tunnels from below
- Alfalfa is one of the most nutritious foods for pocket gophers
- Gophers are active throughout the day
- Reproduction begins the spring after birth with a 1 month gestation period
- Typically 1 L per year with two to six young; occasionally 2 L per year have been noted in the South
